BIPV

Building-integrated Photovoltaic Glass

BIPV is a solar material used to replace traditional building materials in the building envelope, such as roofs, skylights, or facades. Although existing buildings can also be retrofitted using similar technologies, this technology is typically integrated into new buildings as a primary or auxiliary power source. Compared to more common non-integrated systems, the advantage of BIPV photovoltaic modules is that they can replace the traditional building materials and labor costs originally used to construct parts of the building, thereby offsetting the initial investment costs. This advantage makes BIPV one of the fastest-growing sectors in the solar industry.
